تُعد مهارة Writing an Opinion Essay with a Counterargument من المهارات المهمة جدًا لطلاب مستوى B2؛ لأنها لا تقتصر على التعبير عن رأي الطالب، بل تساعده على عرض الرأي الآخر ثم الرد عليه بطريقة منطقية.
وهذا النوع من الكتابة مهم في Academic Writing، وخصوصًا عند التدريب على كتابة المقالات في مستوى B2.
أولًا: ما هو Opinion Essay؟
Opinion Essay هو مقال يعرض فيه الكاتب رأيه تجاه موضوع معين، ثم يدعم هذا الرأي بالأسباب والأمثلة.
بمعنى بسيط:
Opinion Essay = Your Opinion + Reasons + Examples
مثلاً:

Should students be allowed to use mobile phones at school?
يمكن أن يكون رأيك:
Students should not be allowed to use mobile phones during lessons.
ثم تقدم أسبابًا وأمثلة لدعم رأيك.
ما هو Counterargument؟
الـ Counterargument يعني:
An argument that presents an opposite or different opinion.
أي:
الرأي أو الحجة التي تختلف مع رأيك الأساسي.
مثلاً أنت تقول:
Students should not use mobile phones in class.
الرأي المعارض:
Some people believe that mobile phones can help students learn.
هنا أنت عرضت:
Counterargument
ثم يمكنك الرد عليه.
لماذا نستخدم Counterargument؟
إضافة Counterargument تجعل المقال أكثر قوة؛ لأنك تثبت أنك:
- تعرف الرأي الآخر.
- تفهم وجهة النظر المختلفة.
- تستطيع مناقشتها.
- تستطيع الدفاع عن رأيك بطريقة منطقية.
لكن مهم جدًا:
Counterargument does NOT mean changing your opinion.
