مقدمة
تُعد مهارة Writing a Summary أو كتابة الملخص من أهم مهارات القراءة والكتابة باللغة الإنجليزية.
عندما يطلب منك تلخيص نص، فأنت لا تحتاج إلى إعادة كتابة النص كله. المطلوب هو أن تفهم النص، وتحدد أهم أفكاره، ثم تعبر عنها بطريقة مختصرة وواضحة وبكلماتك الخاصة.
ببساطة:
A summary gives the main ideas and the most important details of a text in a shorter form.
أي:
الملخص يعرض الأفكار الرئيسية وأهم التفاصيل في صورة أقصر من النص الأصلي.
ما الهدف من Writing a Summary؟
عندما يكتب الطالب Summary، فهو يثبت أنه يستطيع:
فهم النص.
تحديد الفكرة الرئيسية.
اختيار المعلومات المهمة.
حذف التفاصيل غير الضرورية.
إعادة صياغة الأفكار.
تنظيم المعلومات.
الكتابة بأسلوب واضح ومختصر.
لذلك فإن Summary Writing مرتبطة بشكل مباشر بمهارات Reading Comprehension.
أولًا: افهم النص قبل أن تلخصه
أكبر خطأ يمكن أن يقع فيه الطالب هو أن يبدأ في كتابة الملخص قبل أن يفهم النص.

اقرأ:
Many students use technology to support their education. They use educational websites, online dictionaries and videos to understand difficult subjects. Technology also allows them to study at home and communicate with teachers.
قبل كتابة Summary، اسأل:
What is the text mainly about?
الإجابة:
The benefits of technology in education.
إذن أصبحت لديك الفكرة الأساسية.
ثانيًا: حدد Main Idea
الـMain Idea هي الفكرة التي يدور حولها النص أو الفقرة.
Example:
Regular exercise is important for students. It improves their physical health, reduces stress and helps them concentrate better in class.
Main Idea:
The benefits of exercise for students.
وليس:
Students exercise.
لأن هذه الجملة لا تعبر عن الفكرة كاملة.
ثالثًا: حدد Supporting Details
بعد تحديد الـMain Idea، ابحث عن التفاصيل المهمة التي تدعمها.
Example:
Regular exercise is important for students. It improves their physical health, reduces stress and helps them concentrate better in class.
Main Idea:
Exercise is beneficial for students.
Supporting Details:
improves physical health
reduces stress
improves concentration
Summary:
Regular exercise benefits students by improving their physical health, reducing stress and helping them concentrate better.
لاحظ أن الملخص احتفظ بالمعلومات المهمة فقط.
رابعًا: احذف التفاصيل غير المهمة
ليس كل ما في النص يجب أن يظهر في الـSummary.
Example:
Ahmed started playing football when he was ten. He trained every Saturday with his friends. He later joined a local club because he wanted to become a professional player.
إذا كان المطلوب تلخيص الفكرة، فلا تحتاج إلى الاحتفاظ بكل التفاصيل.
Important:
Ahmed wanted to become a professional football player.
Less important:
He trained every Saturday.
إذن يمكن أن يكون Summary:
Ahmed started playing football at a young age and later joined a local club because he wanted to become a professional player.
خامسًا: استخدم كلماتك الخاصة
هذه من أهم قواعد كتابة Summary.
لا تنسخ الجمل من النص كما هي.
Original:
Reading regularly helps students improve their vocabulary.
Weak Summary:
Reading regularly helps students improve their vocabulary.
هذه مجرد Copying.
Better:
Regular reading helps students develop a wider range of words.
هنا الطالب استخدم Paraphrasing.
سادسًا: استخدم Synonyms
الـSynonyms تساعد الطالب على إعادة صياغة النص.
Original:
Exercise can reduce stress.
Paraphrase:
Exercise can lower stress.
هنا:
reduce = lower
Example آخر:
Original:
Technology makes learning easier.
Paraphrase:
Technology simplifies the learning process.
الفكرة نفسها، لكن التعبير مختلف.
سابعًا: لا تضف رأيك الشخصي
الـSummary يجب أن يعبر عن محتوى النص، وليس عن رأيك.
Text:
Online learning allows students to study from home and access educational resources easily.
❌ Wrong:
I think online learning is a fantastic idea.
لماذا؟
لأن هذه رأيك الشخصي وليس جزءًا من النص.
✅ Correct:
Online learning allows students to study from home and access educational resources easily.
أو بعد Paraphrasing:
Online education gives learners the opportunity to study remotely and access many resources.
ثامنًا: لا تضف معلومات غير موجودة في النص
Text:
Exercise can improve physical health.
❌ Wrong:
Exercise can improve physical health and prevent all diseases.
النص لم يقل:
prevent all diseases
إذن الطالب أضاف معلومة من عنده.
القاعدة:
A summary should be based only on the original text.
تاسعًا: استخدم Linking Words
أدوات الربط تساعدك على تنظيم الأفكار.
لإضافة فكرة:

لاحظ أن الملخص:
أقصر من النص.
يحتوي على الأفكار الأساسية.
لا يحتوي على رأي شخصي.
يستخدم Paraphrasing.
لا يحتوي على تفاصيل غير ضرورية.

ما الذي نحذفه من الـSummary؟
غالبًا نحذف:
1. Repeated Ideas
الأفكار المتكررة.
2. Minor Details
التفاصيل الصغيرة.
3. Examples
إذا لم تكن ضرورية لفهم الفكرة.
4. Names and Dates
إذا لم تكن أساسية للموضوع.
5. Personal Opinions
آراء الكاتب أو القارئ إذا لم تكن جزءًا أساسيًا من النص.

القاعدة الذهبية
اجعل طلابك يحفظوا الجملة دي:
A good summary is SHORT, CLEAR, ACCURATE and COMPLETE.
يعني:
Short → مختصر.
Clear → واضح.
Accurate → دقيق ويحافظ على معنى النص.
Complete → يحتوي على الأفكار الأساسية.
وأهم قاعدة:
Don't copy the text. Understand it, select the important ideas, and rewrite them in your own words.
الخلاصة
كتابة Summary مهارة تعتمد على مجموعة من مهارات القراءة والكتابة معًا.
ولكي يكتب الطالب Summary جيدًا، عليه أن:
يقرأ النص ويفهمه.
يحدد الـMain Idea.
يحدد الـKey Points.
يفرق بين المعلومات الأساسية والتفاصيل الثانوية.
يحذف الأمثلة والتفاصيل غير الضرورية عندما لا تكون مطلوبة.
يعيد صياغة الأفكار باستخدام Synonyms وParaphrasing.
يستخدم Linking Words لربط الأفكار.
يحافظ على المعنى الأصلي.
لا يضيف رأيه الشخصي.
يراجع الملخص للتأكد من أنه مختصر وواضح.
