مقدمة
عندما يُطلب من الطالب في اللغة الإنجليزية أن يعبر عن رأيه في موضوع معين، لا يكفي أن يقول:
I agree.
أنا موافق.
أو:
I think technology is useful.
أعتقد أن التكنولوجيا مفيدة.
لكن يجب أن يشرح:
Why? — لماذا؟
ثم يدعم كلامه بمثال:
For example, ... — على سبيل المثال، ...
وهنا تظهر أهمية مهارة:

وهي من المهارات الأساسية التي تساعد الطالب على بناء إجابة واضحة، منطقية، ومقنعة.
أولًا: ما معنى Stating Reasons؟
Stating Reasons تعني أن توضح سبب رأيك أو موقفك.
يعني عندما تقول:
I believe that students should read regularly.
فالسؤال الطبيعي هو:
Why?
وهنا تحتاج إلى ذكر السبب:
because reading improves their vocabulary.
فتصبح:

أي:
أعتقد أن الطلاب يجب أن يقرأوا بانتظام لأن القراءة تحسن مفرداتهم.
أهم الكلمات المستخدمة في Stating Reasons
1. Because = لأن
وهي أشهر أداة لذكر السبب.
Example:

أنا أمارس الرياضة بانتظام لأنها تساعدني على الحفاظ على صحتي.
التركيب:
